It is the responsibility of the parent/student to read all posted newsletters and note important dates and schedules. Please be on time for all scheduled classes. Students must dress properly for class. Class descriptions and dress requirement notices are available with class schedule.

  • Hair must be secured neatly away from the face and off the neck. No jewelry other than a watch or small earrings can be worn. Hair must be in a bun for all ballet classes, performance classes and company classes.
  • Baggy outer wear prevents the instructors view of correct body alighment. Please wear them only until the body is warmed up.
  • Dancing is fun but you are also here for an education. If you give 100% you will succeed!! Inappropriate behavior will result in dismissal. Anyone not participating in class please wait in designated area.
  • It is very important that each student is comfortable and having fun while they are studying dance or theater. Therefore, students are placed in classes by levels of dance ability, experience and age. Proper placement is extremely important to the growth and progress of each student. A student that is not in a proper level may become frustrated, bored or uninterested. These situations can prevent a student from learning. To avoid this problem, the first month of a students enrollment will be on a trial placement basis.
  • Our dance season runs from September through May. General history is incorporated into all dance and theater classes.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent/student to read all posted information and note important dates and schedules. Please be on time for all scheduled classes. Students must dress properly for class.
  • Classes with low enrollment may be cancelled or merged with another class. Students may enroll in any class at any time (space permitting).

Student Performance:

Back Stage Dance Center holds it annual student performance at the end of the dance year. Participation is not mandatory, however, this is the student opportunity to present their newly acquired skills and perform for their relatives and friends. Performing before a live audience is an extension of a student's education and requires students to be responsible, prepared, and present in class each week.

  • The studio reserves the right to deny students class and/or performance participation based on inappropriate dance attire, excessive absenteeism, poor class discipline or performance, and accounts which are in arrears for costumes and/or tuition.
  • Video taping and flash pictures are permitted at dress rehearsal and prohibited during student performance.
  • It is not guaranteed that siblings will perform in the same show. Students may be required to perform in one or all of the scheduled performances.
